Background
Fever of unknown origin (FUO) is one of the most interesting diagnostic problems in medicine. It may be the background of many different diseases. Infections, neoplasm and autoimmunological diseases are the main reasons of fever of unknown origin. We present the case of a 64-year-old woman with FUO. The fever
lasted longer than 3 months. Clinical status and diagnostics: ultrasonography, computer tomography and fine needle aspiration of thigh was performed and it revealed actinomycosis. Antibiotics as follows: crystalline penicillin, amoxicillin were administered parenterally. As a result of the treatment normalization of temperature and complete recovery were obtained.
