Background
Treatment of infections caused by Chlamydia trachomatis bacterium very often causes many difficulties for practicing doctors. Medicines belonging to the groups of macrolyds, tetracycline and chinolons are used in treatment.
Material and methods
Cases of 88 patients treated by general practitioners because of urinary tract infections were analyzed. Two-week treatment with chemotherapeutic was administered. For patients who were not cured
the next four-week treatment with other antibiotic was conducted.
Results
After the first course of treatment 56.8% of patients were cured. The higher effectiveness was proved for doxycyclin, spiramycin and roxithromycin, the smaller effectiveness – for azithromycin. After the second course of treatment the therapeutic effectiveness was 65.8% (the most effective was doxycyclin). Together, after the first and the second course of treatment the percentage of positively treated people increased to 85.2%.
