Background
The period of climacterium is a normal alteration of hormonal state which every woman has to experience. During climacterium various disorders both of psychogenic and somatic character develop. At that time many women experience various kinds of problems which can be of different nature and may maintain for a period of several months to several years. The aim of this study was to evaluate the women’s satisfaction of life during menopause.
Material and methods
The studied population consisted of 242 women selected at random from the city of Lublin. The study was in the form of a survey with the application of a questionnaire. The obtained results of study were statistically analysed basing on STATISTICA v. 6.0 software (StatSoft, Poland).
Results
The analysis of the results indicates that the most women – 97 (40.10%) evaluates their own well being appropriately to their age; 78 of them (32.23%) assess themselves as young persons. In difficult situations 52 subjects (22.30%) react in an impetuous way and 5 persons (2.07%) define their behaviour as variable. The respondents answering the question concerning the area in which they were successful stated that their biggest success was their family – 140 persons (57.85%).
