Background
Inhibitor of factor VIII is a serious complication of haemophiliacs treatment. Inhibitor concerns mainly the haemophiliacs with severe type of the disease.

Material and methods
The children with haemophilia A studied in Department of Paediatrics, Haematology and Oncology in Warsaw were presented. Only children with very detailed documentation of treatment with factor VIII concentrates were chosen. Inhibitor was measured according to Bethesda method and in the last months in Nijmegen modification.
Results
In 12 children aged from 5 months to 3.5 years inhibitor of factor VIII was detected. The median age when inhibitor occurred was 1 year and 4 month. The number of transfusion days of factor VIII concentrates ranged from 4 to 60 when inhibitor was found. The median was 14.5 of transfusion days.
