Material and methods
A group of 100 adult inhabitants of the Silesian province took part in the study (city of Gliwice and nearby towns). The survey was carried out in given occupational group, but in different social layers between October and December 2006.
Results
The respondents were at the age from 23 to 40 years, average 28. All tested persons are active professionally. 29 respondents suffered from depressive disorders, in 13 respondents depressive states were suspected, however 58 demonstrated no disorders. Amongst persons with the vocational secondary education (13 persons) 3 suffered from depressive disorders, amongst persons with the secondary education (71 persons) – 22, amongst
persons with the university education (16 persons) – 4. Amongst persons living in a town (62 persons) 19 suffered from depressive disorders, amongst persons living in the country (38 persons) – 10.
