Injuries resulting from the operation of Kreiseg’s circular saw occur both in large-scale wood processing companies and private households.

Material and methods
The objective of this paper is to present the issue of extensive skull and soft facial injuries while operating Kreiseg’s circular saw treated at the Maxillofacial Surgery Department of the Provincial Specialized Hospital in Rzeszów between 1990 and 2004.
Results
The author’s observations concern 97 patients treated at the department due to facial injuries ensuing the misuse of a circular saw. The analyzed group comprised mostly men. All patients were country-based and had
been working using a circular saw in their own household. The majority of soft-tissue injuries were extensive in-juries penetrating into the oral cavity and the mandibular area. Fractures of maxillo-facial bones concerned mainly the upper part of the face.
